About the album:

It is an almost 1 hour 19 minutes long concept album in which the mostly instrumental songs are supplemented by a story that is told in the form of small radio play passages.

Musically, the album moves between synth wave, electro, techno and progressive rock. Many different genres are teased or served, with the common thread being the sound, which is strongly reminiscent of the 80s. The story as well as the songs allude to Blade Runner, Pink Floyd - The Wall and Dream Theater and insider anecdotes from my own life are used, which one or another of you will surely recognize.

The story is about Explorer2000 who, after years of absence, was in his head in other dimensions and on other planets to find himself and get answers about life. Until one day he realizes he has to come back. Into our world, on earth. He lands here in Hamburg City in the year 2049, a not too distant future in which people are more dependent on so-called smart devices than today and only little communication takes place.

He tries to get by in this world and experiences some setbacks and loses himself in cyberspace and other addictions........

In a way, the story reflects my own experience of the first years here in Hamburg, a foreign city, completely on my own and already very depressed beforehand. Here I was expecting a fresh start and initially fell into an even greater crisis, which ultimately resulted in a month-long stay in the clinic.

I processed this phase with the album and also documented my creative phase. The songs are mostly (not all) in chronological order as I wrote them, thus documenting actual snapshots from the respective situations.

Since I've always had a soft spot for more progressive music and love radio plays, I wanted to combine both and create a work in which I can prove both. I also wanted to include my fondness for films and film music.

Jan-Peter Nielsen (J.P. for short) a former colleague of mine who recorded the guitar on Æternal.
Max from Milian Mastering mastered the songs for me.

Franklin, Wurmi, and especially my girlfriend Jana, who was a big help in redesigning the lyrics for the skits.
Due to her long stay in the USA, she was able to help me a lot with pronunciation and language flow.
